Drawing Points

Point Tool

The Point tool creates marker features at specific locations on the map. Points are useful for marking addresses, landmarks, waypoints, or any discrete location.

How to Draw Points

  1. Select a layer in the Layers panel (or create one)
  2. Click the Point tool in the toolbar
  3. Click anywhere on the map to place a point
  4. Continue clicking to add more points, or switch tools

Point Markers

Points can be displayed with different marker shapes or custom icons. To change the marker style:

  1. Click on the layer containing your points
  2. Open the layer style settings
  3. Choose a marker shape: Circle, Square, Triangle, Diamond, Star, or Pin
  4. Alternatively, upload a custom icon image

Marker Options

  • Shape — Choose from 6 built-in marker shapes
  • Custom Icon — Upload an image or provide a URL
  • Icon Size — Adjust from 16px to 64px
  • Icon Anchor — Position the icon center or bottom at the point location
  • Fill Color — Color the inside of shape markers
  • Stroke Color — Color the outline of shape markers
For custom icons, use PNG images with transparency for the best results. Square images (e.g., 64x64 pixels) work best.

Moving Points

To move a point after placing it:

  1. Switch to the Selection tool
  2. Click on the point to select it
  3. Drag the point to its new location
